The Premier League transfer window has been absolutely wild this summer.
Record-breaking fees, huge clubs changing managers and some ambitious recruitment from clubs looking to establish themselves at the top level.
But this isn’t a list of the five biggest transfers.
Instead, we’ve picked five signings we’re particularly interested to see in action during the 2026/27 season.
Some are obvious superstars.
Others have something to prove.
And one or two could end up being the signings everyone is talking about by May.
1. Bruno Guimarรฃes โ Arsenal
Transfer: Newcastle United โ Arsenal
Reported fee: ยฃ75m
Let’s start with one of the biggest.
Bruno Guimarรฃes has joined the reigning Premier League champions in a ยฃ75m move from Newcastle, giving Arsenal another hugely experienced midfielder to work with.
There’s very little doubt about his quality.
The interesting question is what Arsenal can do with him.
Mikel Arteta already has an incredibly strong midfield, but Guimarรฃes gives Arsenal another player capable of controlling games, winning the ball and contributing going forward.
And after finally winning the Premier League last season, Arsenal now have a completely different challenge.
They have to defend it.
Adding a player of Guimarรฃes’ quality suggests Arsenal aren’t interested in standing still.
Our prediction
We expect Guimarรฃes to become one of Arsenal’s most important players and play a major role in their attempt to retain the title.
2. Morgan Rogers โ Chelsea
Transfer: Aston Villa โ Chelsea
Reported fee: ยฃ117m
This one is fascinating.
Chelsea have spent a huge amount to bring Morgan Rogers back to the club, with the reported ยฃ117m fee making it one of the biggest transfers of the summer.
But unlike some expensive signings, Rogers isn’t arriving without Premier League experience.
We’ve already seen what he can do at Aston Villa.
Now comes the difficult part.
Can he produce the same level of performances with the pressure that comes with a ยฃ117m price tag?
Chelsea have plenty of attacking options, so Rogers will need to establish himself quickly.
If he does, this could turn into one of the defining transfers of the season.
If he struggles, that enormous fee will be mentioned every time he has a quiet game.
Our prediction
We think Rogers will justify the move โ but Chelsea fans may have to be patient while he settles into his new surroundings.
3. Elliot Anderson โ Manchester City
Transfer: Nottingham Forest โ Manchester City
Reported fee: ยฃ116m
This might be the transfer I’m most intrigued by.
Anderson had an excellent season with Nottingham Forest, and Manchester City have now spent a reported ยฃ116m to bring him to the Etihad.
That’s an enormous amount of money.
But there’s something particularly interesting about this move.
Anderson isn’t joining the same Manchester City we’ve become accustomed to watching over the last decade.
Pep Guardiola has gone, Rodri has gone.
Enzo Maresca is now in charge.
And City are entering a completely new era.
That makes Anderson’s arrival even more interesting.
He’s coming into a team with enormous expectations, but he could also become one of the faces of this new Manchester City.
Our prediction
Don’t be surprised if Anderson becomes one of the most important players in Manchester City’s new-look midfield.
4. Emersonn โ Ipswich Town
Transfer: Toulouse โ Ipswich Town
Reported fee: ยฃ26.6m
Now for something completely different.
Ipswich have spent big on Brazilian striker Emersonn, bringing him in from Toulouse for a reported ยฃ26.6m.
And this is exactly the sort of transfer we wanted to include.
It’s easy to focus on Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and the other traditional big clubs.
But Ipswich have ambitions of their own.
For a newly promoted side, spending this kind of money on a player shows they aren’t planning to simply arrive in the Premier League and hope for the best.
Emersonn has already given Ipswich supporters something to get excited about after scoring in pre-season against Rayo Vallecano.
Now comes the real test.
The Premier League is a completely different level.
If Emersonn adapts quickly, he could be absolutely crucial to Ipswich’s chances of staying up.
Our prediction
We’re expecting Emersonn to be one of the more interesting newly promoted players to watch this season.
And if Ipswich survive, there’s a good chance he’ll have played a big part.
5. Gonzalo Garcรญa โ Fulham
Transfer: Real Madrid โ Fulham
Reported fee: ยฃ34m
This is probably my favourite signing on the list.
Not because he’s the biggest name.
Not because Fulham paid the biggest fee.
But because Fulham are taking a genuine gamble on a player from Real Madrid.
Garcรญa has joined Fulham for a reported ยฃ34m, as the London club look to add more attacking quality to their squad.
Fulham aren’t one of the usual clubs fighting for the title.
They’re not expected to spend ยฃ100m on a single player.
But this is a serious investment for a club that finished in mid-table last season.
And that’s what makes it interesting.
If Garcรญa hits the ground running, Fulham could have found themselves a player capable of making a huge difference.
Our prediction
We’re backing Garcรญa to have a very good first season in England.
Don’t be surprised if Fulham fans are talking about him as one of the bargains of the summer by the end of the campaign.
Which Transfer Will Prove To Be The Best?
That’s the question.
ยฃ117m Morgan Rogers?
ยฃ116m Elliot Anderson?
ยฃ75m Bruno Guimarรฃes?
Or could one of the less obvious signings, such as Emersonn or Gonzalo Garcรญa, end up having the biggest impact?
There’s still plenty of time for more deals to happen, too. The Premier League summer window remains open until 1 September at 11pm BST, so this list could look very different by deadline day.
But for now, these are the five we’re most excited to watch.
Let’s see how we got on come May.
